Let's Talk About...

Is it okay to break up with a friend?

We in the early years of our adulthood fall in and out of romantic relationships? Breaking up is the hardest most excruciating experience many of us face.

Breaking up with my most recent ex-was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. I didn’t want to hurt him but I was unhappy and had been for a very long time. That relationship brought out the worst in me... so with helpful advice from my mum and friends, I decided it was time to end the most significant relationship I had up until that date.
Even though there was lots of tears and snotters and “what have I done?!” moments, in the long run, it was the best thing I could have done.

Post break up, I moved to London to pursue my dream of attending Condé Nast College of Fashion and Design (greatest experience), became “Emma” again and began dating my best friend who is a much better fit for me!

So why do we think it’s unacceptable to break up with a friend who is having a negative impact on our life?

Do you have a friend that you see once a month out of respect for the 10+ years relationship you’ve had? Do you leave that lunch feeling rubbish and deflated?
You should leave a lunch with a friend feeling lovely!

Do you have a friend who in the 10+ years of your relationship you’ve seen change into a different person right in front of your eyes?

So why do we just accept it? If that were our boyfriend we’d dump him!

Why do we feel loyalty because of how long a friendship has gone on? Friendships change! People change! You can’t expect every friend you had in school to remain the exact same in your 20s, can you?

I think if someone is a negative aspect of your life, remove him or her!

Do you think you can “dump” a friend?

Chanel No. 5 L'eau review

Chanel No.5 L’eau

Obsessed!

That’s all I can really say!

Ever since I was a little girl I’ve loved No.5 it to me smells like my mum and my Gran. It’s an expensive smell and makes you feel special.

The thing that put me off the original No.5 is how strong it is, I personally prefer a light perfume.

No.5 L’eau is a lighter – watered down No.5. It’s fresher but the iconic smell of No.5 is there. Chanel caught on to the fact that No.5 was worn by Grandmothers and Mothers and needed to do something to appeal to a younger consumer. Lily Depp is the ideal model to be the face of this new venture for Chanel.

I am so in love with this perfume, I feel sophisticated and grown up. And I love have a piece of Chanel. It’s the priciest perfume I’ve ever purchased but I truly believe its worth the money and I love wearing it on special occasions.

Top 9 must haves A/W 16

My time in London allowed me an inside look into the fashion industry and here are my Top 9 must haves for autumn/winter 2016

        1.  Denim Dad Shirt

A "dad" denim shirt is just an oversized shirt which your dad could probably fit into. These are super easy to wear, so comfy and in my opinion gorg with a faux fur gilet on top!

        2.  Anything Leather

Topshop

Leather is always a reoccurring trend! It will never go out of style!
This season why not try leather with a twist?
I love this skirt from topshop! Embroided flowers are another massive trend this autumn! They are everywhere!

        3.  Swashbuckler Belt
                                                                         Very.co.uk

I'm personally not a belt girl - but I appreciate that they can tie a whole look together, make a shirt dress that little bit more feminine. This season its all about chunky statement belts!

        4. Puffy Anorak

                                                           Zara

If you live in the UK like myself you know a puffy anorak is a must! So when the shops are stocking "nicer" ones than your classic north face! It makes tackling the miserable British winter that little bit easier!

        5. Sheer Hosiery

There isn't much I can say! Other than (insider tip) Green!!

     6. Socks and Sandals

Socks and sandals is quite possibly the most controversial trend! You either love it or hate it! I admit I'm not a fan for flat "summer" sandals with socks underneath! However as seen above a high heal and some chunky knit socks can be chic!!

        7.  Thigh High Boots

Another reoccurring trends- but oh so practical for the cold weather!
I love these with a mini skirt and my personal preference is flats rather than heeled ones.

        8.  Velvet

I LOVE velvet! I know Christmas is approaching!
This blazer is my new lust - very Gucci! I love it!

   9.  Gothic Lipstick

Gothic lipstick makes me nervous! I am very fair skinned and a nude lipstick kind of girl. Black is frightening. However Gothic lipstick was seen all over the A/W 16 runways. So if like me black is a bit daunting then try a very deep purple!

I hope I've encouraged some new Autumn purchases!

Love
